About Us

About Us

Essential Adult Care is an independently owned and operated non-medical home healthcare agency. We serve residents and locals in Los Angeles County and parts of the San Fernando Valley area.

Our Mission

It is our mission to improve the quality of our clients' lives by providing them with the necessary care and services in the comfort of their home. Understanding that independence and being in a familiar place aids in one's overall well-being, our highly trained caregivers are ready to assist clients with integrity, patience, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

COVID Policy

Essential Adult Care puts the health and safety of our clients, their families, and our employees first. We have taken steps to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle for our clients while reducing the risk for the transmission of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Our care teams are being educated to ensure they follow the best practices to provide safe and high-quality care. In addition, all of our caregivers are fully vaccinated, tested weekly for COVID-19, and must pass a daily health screening.

Caregiver Health Screening - We ensure that our caregivers are in great health. We communicate constantly to monitor their condition, whether they are sick, exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and had close contact with people diagnosed with the virus or under quarantine. If any of these conditions are present, our caregivers are instructed to stay home and provide a fit-to-work order before assigning them to our clients.

Client Health Screening - Essential Adult Care conducts virtual or phone checks with all clients to ensure that they are feeling well and if there’s anything needed before the visit. If clients are exhibiting symptoms of COVD-19, we advise them to seek the assistance of their healthcare provider immediately. We will also coordinate with our clients to find out ways on how we can continue the care they need.

Best practices for hygiene and safety during the Coronavirus outbreak have been and will continue to be reinforced with Essential Adult Care caregivers and other employees.

Essential Adult Care recognizes and adheres to CDC guidelines to maximize client safety

We review guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regularly.  These guidelines are provided by the CDC to deter the transmission of the virus:

  • Avoid touching public surfaces with your hands whenever possible, including such things as doorknobs, elevator buttons, restroom surfaces, restaurant menus and tables, public computer keyboards, etc.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Wash their hands often with soap and water frequently, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect all touched surfaces and objects frequently using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Avoid crowds, especially in poorly ventilated spaces. Your risk of exposure to respiratory viruses like COVID-19 may increase in crowded, closed-in settings with little air circulation if there are people in the crowd who are sick.
  • Avoid all non-essential travel including plane trips and cruise ships.

Please know that Essential Adult Care will continually look at the best practices, guidelines, and techniques to ensure the safest and highest quality care we can provide to our senior community.
